It is not wrong to desire lavish house, fancy car, and gigantic bank balance because these are very important things for living a prosperous life. But the problem is when you ignore your mental and physical health for getting worldly things. World is changing, as the ways of life and we all are busy in making our lives better by trying to make wealth. We are doing everything possible for achieving our goals by compromising our mental and physical stability. This creates problems not only for us but for those who are around us also. To solve this problem, you need to meditate which will not only give you physical or mental health but also allow you to be successful in life.

Meditation is considered an ancient tradition, and people link it with religion only. But actually, it is not only concerned with religion or any specific time. It can be applied in any culture, religion, and era.

Man is unique and everybody has distinct approaches towards different things. As like, it is very difficult for some people to identify a type of meditation that suits them. So, here we will look at different types of meditation which you can try by yourselves.

1. Mindfulness Meditation:

This is one of the most popular types of meditation which you can practice as many are practicing it. This type of meditation has links with Buddhist teachings. In mindful meditation, you completely focus on your thoughts which circulate in your mind. You contemplate and feel your thinking attentively. You pass your thoughts flow in your mind unimpededly. You don’t judge your thoughts or involve with them completely. You only observe them and then try to take notes of what you are going through. This practice allows you to concentrate effectively. This type of meditation can also be practiced without a teacher.

2. Spiritual meditation:

This type of meditation can be found in eastern religions like Hinduism, Daoism, and Islam. It is just like normal prayer and you think about God and the universe. You reflect on the silence around you and to make a deeper understanding of the world. You try to communicate with God to get mental satisfaction. This meditation is productive for those who believe in god, and they can thrive in silence.

3. Resting Awareness:

As its name suggests, this type of meditation is concerned with being able to quit all those factors which disturb you. You have to make your mind completely free and allow your thought to travel freely. You don’t have to give them any importance because your mind is in rest and you want to feel good. This meditation helps you to stay in present.

4. Body Scan:

Body scan means to sync your body and mind together. As you must have noticed it that usually our body and mind are not in parallel. Because of this you get confused or bore and sometimes depressed. It is all about aligning your body to work along with your mind. This type of meditation allows you to think properly and take right decision.

5. Movement Meditation:

People are different from one another and they practice distinctly. This type of meditation is suitable for those who believe in movement and action. In movement meditation, you have to walk in parks, gardens, or any wild place. You have to think about your thoughts and feeling while walking. People who love adventure prefer this type of meditation.

6. Visualizing Meditation:

It is clear from the name that it is related to visuals. In this type, you focus on your mind and visualize your thought deeply and use your senses. In visualizing meditation, you focus on the minute detail of any incident or any memory to get exact visuals. Through this practice, you can also visualize achieving your future goals by focusing on them.

7. Loving Kindness:

This type of meditation suits those who have issues of anger and aggression. Loving-kindness meditation promotes kindness and compassion and tends to promote positivity. By practicing it, you can develop the strength of controlling your negative emotions. You can channelize your thoughts and feelings in the right direction. It generally involves the acceptance of love and kindness to yourself and others.

8. Transcendental Meditation:

The goal of transcendental meditation is to rise above the current state of mind. This is spiritual type of meditation where a person remains in a place and slowly breathes. Teacher is very important for this type of meditation. He gives you a mantra (combination of words) and you have to repeat these words while practicing. This could be anything related to your teacher or you. You can also choose this mantra for yourself. Through this practice, you can achieve both spiritual and mental heights.

9. Open monitoring meditation:

In this unique type of meditation, you have to focus on everything you have in your mind. Whether it is internal (thoughts, feelings, memory, etc.) or external (sound, smell, etc.). you have o monitor all experiences without judgment or attachment. You don’t not have to focus on specific things only but you have to create a broader picture.

10. Skillful compassion:

It is somehow related to the loving-kindness meditation technique. In this type of meditation, you have to focus on the person that you love the most. You have to focus on the feelings which arise from your heart and focus on those thoughts which are present in your mind. By controlling your heart and mind, you can control the love for others as you have felt for your companion. You can relate your relation to the relation of others. In this way, you can not only be productive to yourself only but to everyone around you.

In conclusion, we can say that all types of meditation are productive and can be practice by different people. But it is very important to choose the type which suits you the most. Because mental, physical, and spiritual health are all connected to meditation. After all, life is beautiful and everyone deserves to live happily.
